What is Somatics?

The word somatics comes from the Greek root soma which means the living organism in its wholeness. 

Somatics is a field within bodywork and movement studies which emphasizes the wisdom of the body as the source for improving physical, mental, emotional, and relational health.

Why is it important?

Culturally, we have learned a mechanistic and dissociated view of the body. At both the personal and collective levels, this disconnect from the living intelligence of the body has been a major contributor to unhealthy patterns within healthcare, education, commerce, spiritual/religious arenas, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and societal relations.

How does it help?

Family or Systemic Constellation Work is an experiential, body-based approach for working with the effects of transgenerational trauma, hardship, or disconnection that may have been epigenetically transferred to you. Constellation Work enables work with ancestral and familial dynamics, and is also an incredible tool for working with any of the systems we are a part of, such as the internal family system, attachment and developmental imprints, cultural, and collective dynamics. We exist within an intricate web of inter-being. Our individual challenges are never separate from the whole. Constellation Work facilitates a profound process through which you can come to understand your life within a greater context, heal the hurts, amplify the strengths and deepen the flow of love.

Grounded in a somatic approach, intuitive painting, collage, and art journaling are powerful tools for self-care and growth. In creating intuitive art, you generate your own personal imagery that supports your health and healing. Receive guidance for developing your personal intuitive art practice and facilitation for working with what emerges in these revelatory processes.
